Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...5/24/06
Jody and Wes were at their original jam night venue last night--the very place where the two of them first played together on a Wednesday long ago. This night, Charlie and Shakey came out to enjoy the music as well. All were excited at the news that Light of Day is making it's way to college radio stations across the US and Canada. Jody and Wes played acoustic versions of originals Don't Let Go, Simple Life, So Overlooked, I Told You So, It's Grand, Days Gone By, My My, Ten Times, Learn from Me, Stay, and Everybody Pull Together. Shakey sat in with Wes and Jody for three-part harmony versions of Dave Mason's We Just Disagree and the Beatles' "Nowhere Man." And Charlie did a spell on guitar with Jody and then he played a few, including Mark Cohn's Walking in Memphis, with Wes on vocal. Jody wrapped up the evening with a rare and beautiful rendition of U2's Hands That Built America. The boys take their acoustic show lakeside this evening at Andiamo in St. Clair Shores. Come join the boating crowd on this beautiful Michigan day and get your tickets for the big bash at Pelee Island!

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...5/23/06
Band rehearsal night again and Hatchy's filled up with spectators, many looking to score their tickets to the big Pelee Island weekend show this July. The usual suspects were on hand as well as Greg Dilone on percussion. The keyboards were on stage and Charlie brought his harmonica too. Jody and the band performed all of the fan favorite original songs, including Light of Day, I Feel For You and many of the newest, unrecorded originals. As is typical for Tuesday, the guys ripped through cover songs ranging from the Who to Johnny Cash. Charlie was like a one man band, switching from guitar to keyboards to harmonica. After one harmonica tune, Shakey requested permission to tell a joke. It was: "What's the difference between a frog and a harmonica player crossing the road?" Answer: "The frog is on his way to a gig!" That was just one of many funny moments this Tuesday night. The highlight of the evening--late in the evening--was the band's journey into Led Zeppelin. They got rolling through many of that band's most famous tunes and there wasn't one of them that didn't fit Jody's voice like a favorite pair of jeans. Not too many people can sing Zep and make it rock like the original. Amy Fowlkes was called upon to do her best Robert Plant impression on Rock 'n Roll and she nailed it. Wes, Charlie, Greasy and Shakey rocked that one out like words cannot describe. If you haven't made a Tuesday night show, you don't know what you're missing!

Wes and Jody were in their places and ready to go on Wednesday. They played Simple Life, My My, Light of Day, Days Gone By, and Everything Can Wait with Erin Gray. Fans were also treated to Everybody Pull Together, Stay and the classics So Overlooked and Fantastic LA. Next, Jody played the evolving brand new song Learn From Me--a song that captures the attention of all each time Jody plays it. For the third set, Jody and Wes announced that they would begin with a song they don't know. For this night, they chose the Beatles' It's Getting Better all the Time. The evening wound down with Ryan Adams' Come Pick Me Up, by request, and George Harrison's My Sweet Lord (although the request was for Eric Clapton). Jody teased that Clapton wrote it with George. It was a good night AND the Oilers won the series. Jody and Wes will try to outdo themselves tonight at Andiamo on the lake before heading to New Jersey for the Wave Fest!

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica
, MI...5/16/06
Hatchy's fans must know when Tuesday is going to be extra fun. At least they did last night when they filled the sports bar to the rafters to come and hear the band. A lot of new faces were on hand to enjoy bonuses like Charlie's keyboard and harmonica, Greg Dilone's percussion and several lovely guest vocalists. Set one featured Zepplin's Thank You and the combination of Jody's vocal and Wes and Charlie's guitars was awesome (as was Charlie's Rick Nielson-esque electric guitar). Sets 2 and 3 were mostly original. The band pulled out all the goods including Ten Times, It's Only Love, She Says, Take Me Under, Insignificant Other, Stay, Everybody Pull Together, Like a Star (featuring keyboard), Light of Day, Simple Life, Smile and Don't Let Go. Several Who covers--with Greasy's incredible bass, Chuck's harmonica, and Shakey's drum solo--really got the house rockin'. After a brief pause for Jody to sign an autograph, the band rolled into Marley's Get Up, Stand Up. That brought ALL the dancers out on the floor. Next, Jody and co. were joined by Erin Gray and Amy Fowlkes on Everything Can Wait which was dedicated to AJ Abdullah. Then, a version of I Feel for You which included the live concert intro. Jimmie Bones was in the house to appreciate Charlie's take on that keyboard solo. Rose Galati did a little Janis Joplin, a passionate performance that inspired Jody to join her in the chorus. The night wrapped with Ryan Adams' Come Pick Me Up featuring the essential harmonica and Amy and Erin on backup vocals. If you missed it, see what the boys have in store for Wednesday at the Ferndale Post!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 5/11/06
This Thursday at Andiamo was just one of those nights where Jody and Wes were in the zone. The music was outstanding and the boys were hilarious as they invited fans to share in their camraderie. Set 1 songs included It's Only Love (requested by the cutest little girl who hugged Jody's neck before leaving and thanked him for the show), Don't Let Go and Smile. The second set featured all new, not yet recorded songs Days Gone By, My My, Learn From Me, I Told You So and Stay. Jody and Wes wrapped up the evening with one of Jody's favorite songs by Free called Don't Say You Love Me. Once Jody lauched into the vocal, Andiamo grew absolutely silent and just listened. In a word, Powerful. And Wes, as usual, taught himself the song in the first five notes and then made it special. For an encore, the regulars asked Wes to play his infamous Dueling Banjos. Little did they know he would play it with the guitar behind his head! Next stop for the boys is tomato town on Saturday night.

“HAVE A NICE GIG” WINNER JODY RAFFOUL SET TO OPEN FOR BON JOVI AT GIANT’S STADIUM JULY 18

DATES WITH COLLECTIVE SOUL JUST ANNOUNCED

KICKING OFF THE WAVE GATHERING FESTIVAL MAY 20

New Jersey (May 11, 2006) - Winner of the first leg of the Have a Nice Gig Bon Jovi contest, JODY RAFFOUL and his band will be opening the first of three shows for Bon Jovis home stand gigs at Giants Stadium, NJ on Tuesday July 18. Fellow Canadians Nickelback are also on the bill.

The Have a Nice Gig competition stems back from late 2005 where over 17,500 bands submitted their best track to participating local and XM Satellite radio stations to win preliminary gigs to open for Bon Jovi in their local arenas. Jody won the local gig in Detroit sponsored by WDVD 96.3 FM and subsequently opened for Bon Jovi at The Palace at Auburn Hills in November 18, 2005. The winner for the next phase of the competition to open for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium was initially determined by fan voting, taking the cut from 24 down to the Final Four. The Grand Prize Winner was selected by a panel of music experts and by Bon Jovi themselves. On February 23, WDVD brought JODY into the studio and surprised JODY with the special recorded video announcement from Jon and Richie that he had won.

JODY RAFFOUL has also just been tapped to open for Collective Soul on June 4 at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in New Hampshire and on June 6 at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut.

As a prelude to the gigs with Bon Jovi & Collective Soul, JODY RAFFOUL will kick off the opening party for the First Annual Wave Gathering Music Festival in Asbury Park, NJ on May 20th at The Saint at 5 PM.

The Wave Gathering Music Festivals 2-day event will be showcasing some of New Jerseys best talent together with bubbling-under national acts - to perform and bring fans to experience the great local places of interest that Asbury Park has to offer. Additional information about the schedule for Wave Gathering can be found on the official Wave Gathering Website

In addition, look for a 3 song EP from JODY RAFFOUL scheduled for a digital release this June. The EP will include "Light of Day", "Insignificant Other" and "Ten Times" from the upcoming LIKE A STAR album that will be released in August 2006.

Jody, Wes and Bryan were on hand at the Post last night along with a bunch of folks who braved very stormy weather to hear them play. On tap was the acoustic versions of many of the Jody Raffoul Band's original songs. Fans heard Simple Life and Don't Let Go off Jody's Simple Life recording, followed by brand new tunes Days Gone By, My My, Everybody Pull Together and Learn From Me. Shakey Fowlkes, joined the guys later in the evening! Other songs featured were Everything Can Wait and Lennon's Oh Yoko (with Erin Gray), Stay, Like a Star and She Says, all by request. Tonight (Thursday), Jody and Wes will be at Andiamo and Saturday Jody plays his old stomping grounds at the Seacliffe Inn in Leamington. See you there!

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...5/9/06
After a late start 'band rehearsal' was the highlight of another Tuesday night at Hatchy's. Jody, Charlie, Wes, Greasy and Shakey were on top form as usual. Friend and sometimes bandmate Jimmie Bones came out to listen to the boys. Songs "practiced" by the band last night included It's Only Love, Like a Star, Take Me Under, Ten Times, Can't Get It Out of My Head, Insignificant Other, Smile, Don't Let Go and Everybody Pull Together. Jody was sporting a new, clean shaven look and the voice was just "on." Shakey was looking good as well! He's a bit lighter, faster and meaner on the drums these days. Charlie Lambrick noted that he and Jody continue to work on songs and that they have a new one they really like called Chasing Paper. Hopefully fans will get to hear the debut performance sometime soon! Next stop for Jody (and Wes) is the Ferndale Post this evening.

The Shelter, Downtown Detroit, , MI... 5/6/06
Jody and the band rocked Detroit City on Saturday night, playing the Shelter which was made infamous by Eminem and featured in the movie 8 Mile. The Shelter is an intimate venue below St. Andrew's concert hall so the upstairs and downstairs bands can hear each other. But when Charlie, Shakey, Wes, Greg, Greasy and Jody took the stage, there was only one band that mattered. The guys worked through the distraction and kept the fans on their feet and dancing. The show opened with It's Only Love, followed by Take Me Under and Insignificant Other. Next up was She Says and Everybody Pull Together. The band switched gears to do Simple Life and Smile (always fan favorites), and then they threw in a cover of Marley's Get Up Stand Up. And fans did get up--the whole house was rocking. The band played their hit Light of Day and Dreamer and then Amy Fowlkes joined them on stage for a jamming version of Everything Can Wait. Of course, fans weren't going to be satisfied without an encore. Chants of Jody! Jody! could definitely be heard upstairs. So Jody came out and did Little Black Car--the most powerful and beautiful performance yet of this acoustic ballad. Thanks to everyone who came out. Hope to see you this week or on Saturday at the SeaCliffe Inn!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 5/4/06
Wes was back for the gig at Andiamo last night--straight from the plane to the venue in usual Wes Buckley style. He and Jody played a set list that was packed with crowd pleasing original music. They began with Simple Life and Smile, then wrapped up set one with a beautiful acoustic version James Taylor's Fire and Rain. It should be mentioned that Jody had a new toy to show off (a '49 Martin acoustic guitar) and the sound was indescribably awesome. Wes was in love. After much admiring of the new guitar, set two began with new songs My My and Days Gone By. This set also featured I Told You So, Everything Can Wait, Everybody Pull Together and the newest (and rarely played) Learn From Me. Never mind that Wes hadn't heard it yet. He played it with JR from start to finish. Set three featured Little Black Car and She Says (by request). And of course, the evening had to finish off with Wes' signature Dueling Banjos.

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...5/3/06
It was a fantastic night at the Post with Jody and Bryan pulling out all of fans favorite original songs in this intimate acoustic setting. A crowd had gathered to watch the Pistons knock Milwaukee out of the playoffs and many stayed once they heard the first notes of the music. Set one was all original, starting with Simple Life and the unrecorded original Stay. Next we heard the brand new Days Gone By followed by classics Don't Let Go and Fantastic L.A. off the Simple Life album. Jody went back to the unrecorded gems, playing I Told You So and It's Grand. And then we heard Light of Day, Smile, and Little Black Car by request. The second set featured more originals--My My, Everything Can Wait (w/Amy Fowlkes), Everybody Pull Together and She Says. Erin Gray stopped in to sing John Lennon's Oh Yoko with Jody. And the evening wound down with all kinds of requests from the crowd, including Otis Redding's Dock of the Bay, The Who's Squeezebox and an absolutely amazing rendition of Springsteen's Thunder Road. Jody and the boys will fit in just fine in New Jersey this summer! Next stop is Andiamo's on the lake tonight.

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 4/27/06
Another Thursday by the lake with Wes and Jody and their acoustic guitars. Jody and Wes were their usual awesome selves, playing Simple Life, Don't Let Go, Days Gone By, My My, and even the melody of It's a Jack White Thing. Another first was recorded at Andiamo this week. Wes and Jody played the Beatles' Good Day Sunshine. As usual, one started playing and the other joined in. The guys love playing "songs they don't know." Our roving drummer Shakey dropped in to sing a few, including the Beatles' Don't Let Me Down. And Wes and Jody then wrapped up with Little Black Car.

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...4/26/06
Jody, Wes and Bryan entertained the Wednesday crowd at the Post in their usual style. Fans were treated to Light of Day, Simple Life, Days Gone By, My My, She Says, Everybody Pull Together, and Like a Star. Shakey Fowlkes turned up to do a few songs with the boys. He added his third part harmony to an amazing version of The Beatles' Nowhere Man and then performed his signature Folsum Prison that would do the Man in Black proud. Jody and Wes then played the newest original song Learn From Me. Which was followed by a brief appearance by Jose Feliciano. Mrs. Fowlkes joined in the fun and did Ryan Adam's Come Pick Me Up with Jody. Finally, the crowd got to hear the rare original Homeland and Wes Buckley's version of Bowie's Major Tom (by request). The evening wrapped up with that great harmony again--Wes, Jody and Shakey doing Dave Mason's We Just Disagree.
