Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...22/1/06
Jody, Wes and Bryan gave the fans at the Ferndale Post another fun Wednesday jam session this week. Again, there were lots of new faces in the crowd to enjoy band originals like Simple Life, Ten Times, and new originals My My and These Days Go By. True to Wednesday style, guest musicians joined Jody and friends at the mics. Todd Gerdan brought his congo drum and Mr. and Mrs. Fowlkes were also there to sing a song or two. Keith also added the harmonica to several songs. Jody's good friend Lisa was finally coaxed into singing a duet of Kenny Roger's Music Man with Jody and then she took the lead for Janis Joplin's Bobby McGhee. It was one of those extra fun Wednesdays where the music just doesn't seem to want to stop!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI...23/2/06
Jody and Wes were in a California state of mind as they played their last gig of the week before flying out to LA. Orignal songs featured were Everything Can Wait, My My, Ten Times, Smile, These Days Go By and a particularly good version of Little Black Car. Fans generously supported Jody's effort to raise money for cancer charities by donating for the special 4-track CDs that Jody had created for this purpose. And everyone wished the guys luck at the West Coast shows. Jody had his classic '67 Cadillac El Dorado out for the evening. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a beauty!

Hatchy's Sports Bar & Grill, Utica, MI...3/21/06
Jody and the band met up at Hatchy's last night for some informal jamming. Jody, Charlie, Wes, Shakey and Greasy were in fine form, running through many of the bands original songs and quite an entertaining string of cover songs. Original material included She Says, Don't Let Go, Like a Star, Smile, Simple Life, Light of Day, Stay, Ten Times and Everybody Pull Together. Amy Fowlkes joined the band for a cover of Midnight Rider. Then, late in the set, the guys got into a Beatles groove and it became a bit of game to see if the band could play a Beatles tune Jody didn't know. He aced most of them, although Charlie had to coach a little during I Wanna Hold Your Hand. There were lots of laughs as usual on a Tuesday night. Fans were excited about Jody's upcoming trip to LA and many asked for details of the West Coast Shows. Jody was also sporting some more new artwork on his arm. Come out to the Ferndale Post tonight and get up to speed on all the news.

The Beach, 670 Ouellette Ave, Windsor, ON...3/17/06

The green beer was flowing and there wasn't an empty seat in the house as Jody and Wes impressed the crowd at the Beach with a St. Patrick's Day acoustic set. Lots of people enjoyed playing hooky from work Friday afternoon as Wes and Jody enjoyed playing off one another's guitar riffs. Original songs featured were Simple Life, Everything Can Wait, Homeland, So Overlooked, Big Town and the brand new These Days Go By. The second set included I Told You So, Light of Day, My My, Stay, Don't Let Go and Little Black Car. Guitar instrumentals within U2's Where the Streets Have No Name and Neil Young's Southern Man brought audience members to their feet. Jody took the opportunity to announce the new release of a sampler CD that features four of Jody's favorite originals. They are Light of Day, Like a Star, She Says and Dreamer. The CDs are being offered for $1 (or more) donation and the proceeds will benefit various cancer charities that Jody supports, most notably an effort that Jody has undertaken to purchase an MRI machine for the hospital in his hometown of Leamington, Ontario. The audience was very supportive of this goal and the show was a fun interlude gearing up to the band's big show at ICE Nightclub later that night.

ICE Night club, 477 Pelissier St., Windsor, ON ...3/17/06

The paint was barely dry at Ice Nightclub when the Jody Raffoul Band came to break in this brand new venue. Even though it was the club's very first night of business, Jody and the boys packed the place for a non-stop thrill ride of a show. Jody, Charlie, Wes, Shakey and Greasy opened the show with originals It's Only Love, She Says, Like a Star, Take Me Under, I Feel For You, and Insignificant Other. Then they got the dance floor groovin' with Bob Marley's Get Up Stand Up. The band returned to favorite originals like Smile and Everything Can Wait, then threw in a high energy cover of Bad Company's Rock 'n Roll Fantasy. Next, the band performed Ten Times and then Light of Day, to which the entire crowd sang along. Everyone onstage except Shakey quit playing and the crowd sang along to the beat. Loudly! Ice was rocking. The band followed up with Everybody Pull Together and then tried to wrap up with a cover of Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells a Story but the fans were having none of that! They brought the boys out for not one, but two encores. Songs were Love is the Answer and Free's Alright Now. Not a person was sitting by this time. The dance floor was packed. Even Jody was dancing around the stage. The owners at Ice were pleased with the opening. Look for Jody and the band to be back there sometime soon! Next stop is "rehearsal Tuesday" at Hatchy's. See y'all there!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI...3/16/06
It was a relaxed pre-St. Patrick's Day Eve as Wes and Jody showed off their guitar playing skills last evening at Andiamo. An intimate crowd listened attentively as the guys played originals like Simple Life, Don't Let Go, I Told You so, My My and the Thursday night debut of the newest song These Days Go By. It was quiet enough to really appreciate the way Wes and Jody's guitars blend and compliment each other so beautifully. Just when it seemed that this acoustic show would stay low key, Jody bandmates Greasy Carlisi, Shakey Fowlkes and Greg Dilone arrived and turned things up a notch! Jody and Wes played Stay, Light of Day and then wrapped up with Little Black Car by request. The band was busy making plans for today's St. Paddy's Day show in Windsor. This brand new venue (called Ice) is celebrating its Grand Opening tonight with Jody and the band. Hope to see lots of you there!

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...3/14/06
Jody and the full band once again packed Hatchy's for unofficial band rehearsal night. The band has staked claim to the large stage upstairs since the crowd just keeps growing. Throughout the first two sets, the guys worked their way through all of the fans' favorite originals, including Little Black Car, Like a Star, Light of Day, It's Only Love, Take Me Under, Can't Get it Out of My Head, Everybody Pull Together, Everything Can Wait (featuring Amy Fowlkes), Smile and Simple Life. There was an exciting special guest in the house last night. None other than Detroit's own Jim McCarty. Jim was a member of Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels band as well as Cactus and the Rockets. He has played and recorded with legends like Buddy Miles and Jimi Hendrix and currently plays with his band Mystery Train. Jim joined the band on stage playing lead guitar and lending his voice to Clapton's The Core (also featuring Amy Fowlkes), the Stones' You Can't Always Get What You Want, and Dave Mason's Feelin' Alright. Jim's guitar provided a vocal all its own and fans were into it. No one was leaving early, that's for sure. Inspired by the music, the band stayed for a third set that featured Don't Let Go, Love is the Answer and Stay. At 1am, the crowd was still shouting for more! Catch Jody's acoustic show tonight at the Ferndale Post to hear all about it!

The Jody Raffoul Band played Hatchy's this Tuesday with a twist. The band was set up on the opposite side upstairs to make room for the growing number of people coming out to listen. Wes was unable to attend the show but song-writer extroardinaire Charlie Lambrick was on hand working that electric guitar and filling in the harmonies on vocal. Original songs featured were Simple Life, Like a Star, It's Only Love, Light of Day, Take Me Under and the band's version of ELO's Can't Get it Out of My Head. Fans were also treated to Smile, Everybody Pull Together, Don't Let Go and Everything Can Wait. The crowd was making so many requests or original songs, it was impossible to get to them all. The evening wrapped up with a version of Cheap Trick's Surrender as only Shakey Fowlkes could sing it. And then Jody selected The Black Crowes' She Talks to Angels from the many "last song" requests that were being shouted his way. Tune in next Tuesday. Maybe Jody and the band will take over the downstairs too! Next stop, Jody acoustically at the Ferndale Post this evening.

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI...3/2/06
Jody was set for a "solo" performance at Andiamo on Thursday since Wes had other plans on his birthday. Jody opened the evening with Simple Life, Don't Let Go and I Told You So. As usual, the venue was standing room only and the crowd was enthusiastic, making lots of requests. Set two featured My, My and It's Grand, as well as Light of Day, Smile and Fantastic LA. During the second set, Jody called Wes on his cell phone and asked the crowd to sing Happy Birthday. Fans were only too happy to comply and Wes decided to come out and join in the fun. He arrived for set three which began with So Overlooked. Jody and Wes performed some rare covers including U2's I'm Not Sleeping and Tom Petty's Handle With Care. Set three ended with Everybody Pull Together (featuring "Wedge" Buckley). But the highlight of the evening was the encore request. Jody captured one lucky lady and danced her around the bar, keeping tempo with Wes' signature Dueling Banjos. You just never know what will occur at a live show with Jody Raffoul!

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...3/1/06
Jody and Wes were in Ferndale last evening for an acoustic set at the Post. In honor of Wes' birthday, Shakey and Amy came out as did Bobby East and James Wailin of The Reefermen and Joy Sparks. Songs included Simple Life, My My, I Told You So, Everybody Pull Together, Stay, Don't Let Go and Everything Can Wait. Of course, there was a heartfelt Happy Birthday sung to Wes by Jody and the crowd. The night ended with some pool--the game Wes and Jody played shooting with only one hand was pretty impressive. Tonight you can catch Jody at Andiamo in St. Clair Shores.

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...2/28/06
Jody, Wes, Greasy and Shakey played Hatchy's in Utica last evening to another full house. He told fans the band would be playing new material and asked them to provide feedback! It's a little like being in the studio with the boys. The band was in high spirits last night. Shakey got a shiny new drum set and Wes was breaking in his newest guitar. Bandmate and friend Josh Sulfaro was in the house to hear the latest from the Jody Raffoul Band as well. Set one began with "Stay", "Simple Life" and "Ten Times". Then we had a Who interlude so Shakey (aka Keith Moon) could break in the drums. The first set wrapped up with "Don't Let Go" and "Can't Get it Out of My Head". The band opened set two with "Everybody Pull Together", "Light of Day", "She Says" and "Everything Can Wait" (featuring Amy Fowlkes on vocal). If you missed it, come next week and bring friends! Or, if you can't wait that long, check out the acoustic show at The Ferndale Post tonight. We're celebrating Wes' birthday!
