Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...4/26/06
Open rehearsal night at Hatchy's was double the fun with the band getting excited about the Bon Jovi/Nickelback show at Giants stadium and the Red Wings battling out the first round of the NHL playoffs. Shakey, Wes, Charlie, Greasy and Jody were in fine form, jamming through a rockin' first set which ended (coincidentally?) just in time for face off. The second set featured the band's originals including Simple Life, Dead Man Walking, Don't Let Go, Ten Times, Like a Star, Light of Day, Take Me Under, Everybody Pull Together, Insignificant Other, and It's Only Love. The third set began with Everything Can Wait (featuring Amy Fowlkes), followed by the Clapton's The Core (also with Amy "Marcy Levy" Fowlkes). Fans heard the Who's Kids Are Alright, by request, and an incredible version of Magic Bus. Shakey "Keith Moon" Fowlkes drummed on the floor, on Jody's mic stand and even on Wes' guitar strings. The crowd loved it! Jody wrapped up with the Beatles' Her Majesty. The Detroit Red Wings may have lost the game, but Hatchy's fans saw one winner of a show!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 4/20/06
Andiamo patrons and fans came out in force last night to hear Wes and Jody's acoustic show. All the talk of course was about the upcoming Bon Jovi/Nickelback show at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Before long, it was standing room only! Songs featured in the first set were Simple Life, Red Rag Top, and new favorite My My. Set two opened with another brand new tune called Days Gone By, Everybody Pull Together, I Told You So, and Little Black Car. Jody and Wes opened the 3rd set with Arlo Guthrie's Coming Into Los Angeles and the dancing just kept going. The original highlight of the 3rd set was Stay, by request. If you haven't been to Andiamo's Lakefront location in St. Clair Shores, now's the time to check it out and be sure to do it on Thursday!

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...4/19/06
Jody, Wes and Bryan gave their usual stellar acoustic performance at the Ferndale Post this Wednesday. A good sized and appreciative crowd came out to hear the news that the Bon Jovi show is on July the 18th (a Tuesday). The guys started the evening with the rare original Jekyl and Hyde (from Jody's first self-titled CD). Other songs featured were the new originals My My, Everybody Pull Together and Days Gone By. The boys also played Smile and I Told You So. Amy Fowlkes was in the house to sing John Lennon's Oh Yoko with Jody. And Shakey sang a couple of songs with the guys as well. Jody and Wes attempted a song by the Waterboys called Beautiful. Jody's music has been compared to this Irish band. It was interesting to hear his take on one of that band's classics.
Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...4/18/06
Jody, Charlie, Greasy, Shakey and Wes hit the stage at Hatchy's on Tuesday for their weekly open rehearsal and a big crowd was out to hear the latest sounds. The band had just heard the the Bon Jovi show dates in New Jersey were announced and there was excitement in the air. Set one featured the original tunes Don't Let Go and Simple Life. Set two was packed with originals including Love is the Answer, Light of Day, Like a Star, Take Me Under, Insignificant Other, Everything Can Wait (w/Erin Gray), Smile, It's Only Love, Dreamer and Everybody Pull Together. Jody called his good friend Lisa Santia up to sing the Beatles tune Here Comes the Sun with him. By now, it was the normal time to wrap up for the night. However, the crowd just kept chanting for more. The band obliged several times and it was well past 1am before they finally threw in the towel. A highlight of the evening was the band's rendition of Johnny Cash's Folsum Prison Blues featuring Shakey on vocals and drums. Jody watched along with the fans. It really was impressive!

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 4/13/06
Jody and Wes helped patrons welcome the spring weather at Andiamo's on Lake St. Clair. Boating season is beginning and the crowd was all smiles as Wes and Jody played songs like My My, Days Gone By and Simple Life. Andiamo is always a good venue to chat with the boys between sets and the discussion was lively. The second set featured more original songs such as Don't Let Go, Smile, Everybody Pull Together, Light of Day and a rare performance of It's Grand. As it is becoming a trend, Jody and Wes were asked to play an encore of My My. That song is just plain addictive!

God Bless, Kevin, John and Jason

It is with deep sadness in my heart that I have to share with you all this most tragic event that happened last week to friends of mine John and Gladys Faddoul. Their three young sons, Kevin, John and Jason Faddoul, aged 13, 17 and 12 respectively (pictured above), were kidnapped at the end of February in Venezuela and held for ransom. Despite many desperate attempts to free the boys from this barbaric crime, all three of them, together with their driver, Miguel Rivas, were found murdered.
The thing too many overlook or lose sight of in life, is the value of life itself. Life is a gift, it is priceless, no money can substitute it. These senseless crimes, were committed with a monetary value placed on life, with an outcome that has left everyone asking why, including myself. God Bless, John, Kevin and Jason, (and Miguel their driver), may they rest in peace, they were tragically not given the opportunity to be on this earth long enough to enjoy or understand the true meaning of life. They were not given the choices we all have, their lives were taken away from them.
I ask that you take a moment and reflect on what you have around you, not material things, but family, friends and the opportunity to live, love and be yourself. I would not trade a thing and I truly believe that love is the answer.
Love and Peace to you all,
Jody

Andiamo's, St. Clair Shores, MI... 4/6/06
Jody and Wes were back at Andiamo's on the lake last evening for a few acoustic sets. It was a night packed with new faces, original music and even a guest appearance. The boys started out the evening with Everything Can Wait, Days Gone By and Simple Life. The first break was spent admiring a rare 1968 Martin D35S guitar in Brazilian rosewood (only 135 made), though neither Jody or Wes could talk the owner into parting with it.
The second set featured Stay, My My, Everybody Pull Together, Light of Day, I Told You So, So Overlooked and Like a Star. The crowd was craving originals! Set three began with Smile and then Jody's friend Jason (of the band Flask) joined in on Don't Let Go on the bass guitar no less! The trio continued with Dreamer and She Says. The night then wrapped up with Little Black Car. Black Car has been getting some attention lately. There's some new guitar work that's pretty cool. Your next chance to check it out is Tuesday at Hatchy's in Utica. Get there early or you'll be standing in the back!

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...4/5/06
Ferndale area fans were excited to hear about the LA tour as well. The Post was packed to hear Jody and Wes play their acoustic set which included Simple Life, Light of Day, Like a Star and the newest tracks My, My and These Days Go By. Amy Fowlkes joined the guys to start Set 2 with Lennon's Oh Yoko! and Ryan Adams' Come Pick Me Up. The third set featured original songs (by request) such as Dreamer, and a newly L.A. flavored Everybody Pull Together. Jody's friend Jason (of The Flask) was in the house, just back from LA himself. Jody invited Jason up to perform one of his songs but Jason wanted to play a Jody original. So, the guys delivered an amazing rendition of Don't Let Go with Jason on the guitar and, to Jody's surprise, backing vocals. The trio was a hit with the still growing Wednesday night crowd. Jody and Wes then wrapped up the night with I Told You So and the ever popular Little Black Car. Jody and Wes will be at Andiamo in St. Clair Shores tonight. Come on out !
Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...4/4/06
Jody and Wes were all smiles on Tuesday as they met up with Greasy and Shakey after a successful trip to Los Angeles. Fans came out in mass to see the band and hear about their adventures. Hatchy's had to triple their waitstaff it was so crowded. And they all stayed for three sets of the stuff that brings them out every week. The boys played originals like Don't Let Go, Simple Life, and Smile (off the Simple Life recording) as well as Like A Star, She Says, It's Only Love and Light of Day (from the Like a Star CD). Fans requested some of the band's new material and they weren't disappointed. Jody and the band performed Stay, Everything Can Wait (w/Amy), Love is the Answer and, of course, Little Black Car. The night wrapped up with Clapton's Why Does Love Have to Be So Sad with Amy Fowlkes joining Jody on the vocals.

It's 2 Thumbs All The Way Up, on the West Coast!

JODY pictured here with legendary producer/engineer EDDIE KRAMER. Jody got to spend time with and meet the legend at The Mix Room in Burbank California last week while Eddie was mixing THE FLASK's debut album (Kenny Olson's new band). Talks of a collaboration in the not too distant future are now looking more like a reality.
JODY & WES performed three shows whilst in Los Angeles; Ghengis Cohen on Wednesday, was a small intimate setting and needles to say the guys left the crowd wanting more; The Mint on Thursday drew a strong crowd who were captivated from start to finish. Several music industry notables were present including friend and fan Kenny Olson, Brian Ray (Paul McCartney's guitarist), Sheila Conlin (TV Producer), Kevin Day (MyRocketScience) - all of whom were more than impressed with the performance; On The Rox/The Roxy Theatre on Friday night drew fans from both previous nights with their friends in tow!
JODY & WES were on cruise control and had the crowd in the palms of their hands - "Pull Together" had everyone in the place clapping along which was followed by a shout out request from a local fan for "Fantastic L.A." - the guys duly kicked into the song to rapterous applause and a big cheer when Jody hit the line "...Friday night she's at the Rainbow Room"... (which just happens to be next door to The Roxy).
The three shows were by far the best performances I have seen of Jody & Wes together, they were "in-the-zone", the club managers at all three venues want them back ASAP! CD Samplers were handed out each night, the seeds have been sewn to have the full band back in LA. real soon.
