For those of you who don't know, Jody's sons gave him quite the workout on the ice recently and Jody cracked one of his ribs! OUCH! He had to take it easy this week but have no fear...Jody and the Band will be back full strength this Friday the 30th at The Village Inn!

Fidel's Havana Lounge, Windsor, ON...12/23/05
The Jody Raffoul band played Fidel's in Windsor last night to a standing room only crowd. Long before the band went on, Fidel's was having to turn people away because they just couldn't squeeze anybody else into the joint. If you were one of the lucky 150 fans who picked up the special "Live at the Stone Pony" CD, post and let Jody know what you think of it!
After a fine opening performance by Jason Labba and his new drummer (aka Jeff "Shakey" Fowlkes), Jody, Wes, Charlie, Greasy and Shakey climbed to the balcony stage to deliver a night of high octane rock-n-roll. It would be difficult to give highlights because all the songs were awesome. So, since it's Christmas, we'll post the whole set list. Hopefully you were there and got to hear it in person 'cause I don't think mere words could do it justice.
Songs included: Like a Star, Smile, It's Only Love, I Feel for You, Don't Let Go, Grabtime, Love is the Answer, She Says, Everything Can Wait (w/Amy Fowlkes), Light of Day, Everybody Pull Together, Little Black Car.
Congratulations to Jody's cousin Helen on her engagement. And Happy Holidays y'all!
Andiamo's Lakefront Bistro...12/22/05
Well, the holiday is upon us. How do we know? Because Andiamo's was packed and Wes and Jody played not one, but two Christmas songs! By request, they did Lennon's "So This is Christmas" with Wes Buckley singing as Yoko Ono, and then Wes (aka Jose Feliciano) treated the crowd to his own special version of Feliz Navidad. Soon after, Jody broke a guitar string and just like magic, Bryan Jones appeared to make the repair. Jody does have quite a dedicated crew. With Christmas so near, there were folks in from out of town, including Jody's friend Bill Moore from Nashville. Erin Gray was also on hand to sing Jody original "Everything Can Wait". It was an evening of good cheer! The holiday spirits were flowing as were Jody's CDs (thanks Bobby for the marketing!). Quite a celebration.

Peace : )

Post Bar Woodward , Ferndale, MI...12/21/05
Jody and Bryan Jones played the Post last night to the crowd of regular Jody fans. Bruce Jones (the other half of Jody's 13 feet of madness) was behind the bar and it was one of those cozy nights that felt more like a gathering of friends than a night out at the bar. Jody and Brian played a good mix of original songs. Erin Gray joined Jody and Bryan for the "Everything Can Wait". Wes Buckley surprised everyone by showing up after another engagement to wrap up the evening with the brand new "Little Black Car." And then the boys called it a night since Jody's rib was really bothering him. For those of you who don't know, Jody's sons gave him a workout on the ice this past weekend. Jody took a "highlight reel" fall and did some damage to his rib cage. But he's going to tough it out for tonight's show at Andiamo and he's looking forward to the big show at Fidel's in Windsor tomorrow night. See you all there!

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...12/20/05
Tuesday night's show was supposed to begin a little late due to a party on the VIP level at Hatchy's. But when those folks started calling for the band to play, Jody and the boys gave them quite a show. Hatchy's was packed with lots of new fans--some who found Jody on MySpace.com! It was a night of originals, including old favorites like "Don't Let Go," "Smile" and "Simple Life." The band also played newer songs such as "Ten Times," "It's Only Love," "Everything Can Wait," "Everybody Pull Together," "Like a Star," and "Take Me Under." Percussionist Greg Dilone (aka Ringo from Santo Domingo) was on hand for the second and third sets and Amy Folks supplied vocals on several of the original tracks. The evening wrapped up with Jody and Wes Buckley performing an acoustic rendition of the new original "Little Black Car." It was a lot of fun. Come out to the Post in Ferndale tonight and be part of it all!"

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI...12/13/05
Jody, Wes, Greasy and Shakey played Hatchy's last night with more surprises. The Wings may have lost, but the fans were winners, being treated to originals "It's Grand" with a new beginning and an awesome electric guitar lick. Also, crowd favorite "Everything Can Wait" with Amy Fowlkes on vocals. As fans know, this was the favorite of former percussionist AJ Abdalleh who we lost in January of this year. The song was dedicated to AJ in celebration of yesterday's sentencing of the man responsible to life in prison without parole. We miss you AJ.

Hatchy's Sports Bar and Grill, Utica, MI ...12/06/05
JJody and Tuesday night regulars Wes, Shakey and Greasy played Hatchy's (Red Wing and Detroit native Derrian Hatcher's bar) in Utica, MI last night. Charlie Lambrick sat in for the second set, lending vocals, guitar and a mean harmonica to the evening. Big snow flakes were falling outside, but the fans braved the weather to enjoy this intimate venue. In the second set, the boys really started to have some fun. Jody got in the spirit John Lennon's "So This is Christmas" and Wes responded by leading the band in a Springsteen-esque rendition of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
Amy Fowlkes lended her lovely voice to new original and fan favorite "Everything Can Wait." After last night's sets, tonight's gig at the Ferndale Post should be interesting. Hope to see lots of fans out this evening!

Jody Raffoul and Band open for Bon Jovi at the Palace of Auburn Hills! Jody Raffoul and his band won the opening slot for Bon Jovi on the 18th after winning a Battle of the Bands hosted by Detroit radio station WDVD.
The boys beat out hundreds of bands and if you were able to attend the show at The Palace you would know why! Jody and Band Members (Wes, Shakey, Greasy, and Jimmie Bones) tore up the stage big time!
They played a thirty minute set with such energy that if you didn't come as fan, you certainly left as one. The stadium filled as the boys played such originals as "It's Only Love", "She Says", "Light of Day", "I Feel for You", "Everybody Pull Together" and "Love is the Answer". Jody fans, spread throughout the stadium, showed their support with signs, cheers and of course back-up vocals! As a fan, Jody sat in the audience just weeks before, imagining the day when he would get the chance to play his music at such an awesome venue. Well that day has come and passed, and rest assured it won't be the last!
The contest continues as "Light of Day", the third song of the set was recorded, and will be voted on by the Bon Jovi crew along with the other bands that won opening slots during the Bon Jovi Tour. The winning band will open for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium 2006! Win or lose, Jody Raffoul and his Band are already winners and will continue to inspire and engage any crowd they have the opportunity to play for.November 16 /05
